Government agencies and private industry are potential employers of students from this program. During their two years of study, Surveying Technology majors learn the elements of surveying as applied to construction, land, topographic, geodetic, city, and photogrammetric surveys. Course work is planned to give students an appreciation of the skills and equipment necessary to perform precise measurements in the field, then develop an understanding of the relationship between the precision of measurements and the interpretation of data. After completing the requirements of state registration boards, many graduates become registered land surveyors.
This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc., www.abet.org.
